Dapperdawg Puppies
Born on the 7th of December a wonderful litter of Dapperdawg puppies, after a stressful day on Sunday with the digging and panting, Darci had her first pup on Monday evening at 19:21 a beautiful tri bitch weighing 294g, at 20:01 a T&W boy weighing 362g, then a tri boy at 20:31 weighing 346g, at 20:50 a T&W bitch weighing in at 364g,followed at 21:01 by another tri boy weighing 352g, at 21:55 out popped our 2nd T&W bitch weighing 316g and last but not least our monster T&W dog weighing in at 382g born at 23:05.
Mum and all the pups went to the vets for a check up the following day and all was fine, they got weighed again in the evening and the little tri bitch that was first born had lost quite a bit of weight, so we started supplementing her with formula milk every 2 hours, we realised she wasn’t latching on properly so we decided after advise from the vet, to keep with the syringe feeding, this was a long and arduous task but well worth it, after a week or so we noticed she had a weakening to the right side of her face, we took her back to the vet and after examination there appeared to be slight nerve damage, probably caused by the birthing process or a misplaced paw, little Tinkerball continued to be syringe fed along with her solids, she was first to eat and also first on her feet going everywhere at a hundred miles an hour, she was tiny and the others were so big now, everyone who came to visit fell in love with her, she has so much personality.
The pups started going to their new homes on the 1st February with our tri dog Rhum (Dapperdawg forbidden Island) going to Dunoon to live, on Tuesday our T&W dog Floyd went to Grangemouth, then on the Friday our other T&W dog Cullen went to Arbroath, the house was somewhat quieter now. Next it was Maple our tri bitch who’s new home was in beautiful Oban, then on the Friday it was Archie our other tri dog who went to live in Peterhead, then there was two!, little Tinkerbell and Cara. Tinkerbells name changed to Willow and at 10 weeks old she went to her new home in Falkirk, where we will be able to keep in contact with her, she will be staying with Louise and Andrew and their other dog the beautiful (and tolerant) Darcy.
Cara (Dapperdawg Island Mist) & Rhum (Dapperdawg Forbidden Island) will make there apprearance in the show ring in June 2010.
